I f personal and residential safety is of paramount importance for homebuyers looking for their ideal abode, they should look to Vermont, Maine, or Minnesota. According to a June study by WalletHub, these are the safest states in America. To make its determinations, WalletHub compared 50 states across five critical dimen- sions—personal and residential safety, financial safety, road safety, workplace safety, and emer- gency preparedness. The study evaluated these dimensions using 48 relevant metrics, grading each metric on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the highest level of safety.
