Read on to learn which states have the most and least stressed-out lifestyles. A merican stress levels have been rising for many demographics since 2016, according to a study by WalletHub. Diminishing housing af- fordability was cited as one of the key contributing factors, alongside average hours worked per week, the personal bankruptcy rate, and the share of adults getting adequate sleep per night. However, not every state is cre- ated equal when it comes to its residents' stress levels. WalletHub compared the 50 states across four key stress dimensions: work-related stress, money- related stress, family-related stress, and health- and safety-related stress. Hous- ing affordability was weighted under money-related stress along with median income, credit score, and debt per median income. Overall, Louisiana was the most-stressed state, followed by Mississippi and Arkansas. Minnesota came in at the other end of the spectrum as the least- stressed, followed by Utah and Massachusetts. Hawaii, California, New York, Massachusetts, and Oregon ranked high on the list of states where housing af- fordability caused most stress, while residents of Ohio, North Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska, and Wyoming may have plenty of problems, but housing stress isn't at the top of their concerns, according to WalletHub. Here's how the stress broke down, state by state. Source: WalletHub, "2019's Most & Least Stressed States"
