12 | M R EP O RT MCROWD GOVERNMENT BETH LYNK The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) has named Beth Lynk as its new Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs, sworn in by HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge. Lynk brings a wealth of knowledge as a strategist and communications expert in campaigns, crisis communi- cations, and strategic planning with experience working in civil rights, healthcare, government, political, nonprofit, and corporate environ- ments. She is a native of the District of Columbia, and a graduate of Northwestern University. She most recently served as Senior Advisor to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator and previously as the CMS Director of the Office of Communications (OC). There, she drove campaign and communica- tions strategy for the most successful Affordable Care Act Marketplace open enrollment period in history, resulting in more than 14.5 million signing up for health coverage and incorporated new health equity campaign strategies, including cultur- ally competent messaging, as well as expanded outreach to five AANHPI languages for the first time. Prior to joining CMS, Lynk served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where she supported HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra in his first 100 days leading strategic communications for the HealthCare.Gov Special Enrollment Period, health equity, drug pricing, and the implementation of American Rescue Plan. Prior to HHS, Lynk worked at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, where she ran the Census Counts Campaign and developed a coordinated effort that brought together businesses, foundations, cities, faith leaders, and community-based organizations across a wide spectrum of advocacy to encourage communities the census has historically missed to be counted in the 2020 Census. Lynk also served as Associate Director of Federal Communications for Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund, directing Planned Parenthood's communications around federal policy, congressional action, advocacy campaigns, and related litigation. LENDERS JULIE BOOTH ANGELO VITALE BRIAN BROWN TINA V. JOHN Rocket Companies has announced the retirements of CFO/ Treasurer Julie Booth, and General Counsel and Secretary Angelo Vitale. Both Booth and Vitale will remain with the company in strategic advisory roles. Booth joined Rocket Mortgage 19 years ago and has served as the organization's CFO since 2005. She plans to stay in her current role until November 15, 2022, after which she will transition to an advisory role within the company. The board has appointed Brian Brown, Rocket Companies' current Chief Accounting Officer, as the incoming CFO and Treasurer. "During her time as CFO, Julie has been a tremendous leader in our organization, helping guide our company through significant growth and expansion, culminating with our IPO in 2020," said Jay Farner, Rocket Companies Vice Chairman and CEO. "Even more impressive is the tremendous team Julie has built and the deep care she has shown for everyone in our company, including Brian, who has already proven himself to be an incredible financial mind who will help lead us well into the future." Brown, who joined Rocket in 2014, currently leads the company's Accounting, Finance, Treasury and Procurement teams. He has also been a crucial member of Rocket Companies' investor relations efforts since the IPO in August 2020, regu- larly meeting with investors and help- ing to set strategy for the company. Prior to joining Rocket, Brown served eight years with EY where he con- sulted with publicly traded financial services companies. Vitale—who has been with Rocket Mortgage and Rocket Companies for more than 25 years—will transi- tion from his current role to an 'Of Counsel' position, effective immedi- ately. Prior to being named General Counsel for Rocket Companies, Vitale This month, some of the industry's largest firms welcomed several new hires to expand their operations. Who's moving on and who's moving up in the industry was CEO of Rocket Central and has also served as Rocket Mortgage's EVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. "Angelo has been an absolute pillar of this company for as long as I can remember. His wise counsel and passion for our business is legend- ary," Farner said. "Whether it was sharing his expertise or stepping up to take on a new role, he has always been willing to do whatever it takes to make the business successful." Assuming the role of General Counsel and Secretary is Tina V. John, the company's previous Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary. John joined Rocket Companies in 2020 following its IPO and has worked closely with the Board of Directors since starting with the company. She began her 15-year legal career specializing in capital markets and public company guidance at Shearman & Sterling LLP, a multina- tional law firm headquartered in New York City, and most recently led the corporate governance and securities practice at an Ohio-based American lifestyle retailer. ANDREW BADSTUBNER Andrew Badstubner has been named CIO for First Community Mortgage (FCM). Badstubner is a technology manage- ment, software development, and product engineer- ing executive with more than 20 years of experience building high-growth and disruptive digital technologies. He previously served as CIO at NewRez LLC and Ditech Holding Corporation. "Andrew's expertise in transfor- mational digital change promotes exponential organizational growth by providing engagement experiences that are fast, easy, and accurate to all stakeholders," said Dan Smith, President of FCM. "Andrew is an ex- ceptional leader with great strategic vision. The combination of these skills allows him to optimize efficiencies and connect all of our businesses' complex process activities into a seamless end-to-end experience. He is a terrific addition to our team and will be influential in supporting our continued growth."
