It's also energy-efficient to help keep the electricity bill down throughout those hot Texas summers. The local school district is Highland Park ISD, ranked 17th in the state. In addition to a community pool, Lake Nona is nearby, with a boat ramp and a private fishing pier to enjoy. On top of that, the location is tough to beat— just a short trip from the "Happiest Place on Earth." The list price is $999,999. Phoenix, Arizona Rank: 5 December 2013 Level: 144.48 Annual Change: 15.3% Hot home: Occupying seven acres of Phoenix's Camelback Mountain, this nearly 10,500-square-foot home was built in 1998 and boasts five bedrooms, nine baths, and a full guesthouse. A 750-foot driveway, lined with 32 twin palo verde trees leads up to the beautifully-built stone house, which itself is home to generous rooms, high ceilings, and large windows to "drink in the views." The interior, meanwhile, features wood and cantera detailing in the flooring as well as wood beams for a rustic feel. The listing price on Zillow is an even $10 million. While the housing market continues to stabilize from internal obstacles, one external obstacle remains in the forefront: lack of available jobs. Once, individuals and families were able to move based on city preference, but now many are moving based on proximity to work. According to Penske Truck Rental, many of its customers have moved from the Northeast and Midwest to the South and West. Here are the top cities people moved to in 2013, the change in home price levels, and a look at one hot home in each city, according to the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Index.
