TH E M REP O RT | 11 MCROWD MICHAEL J. WILLIAMS Leading home pur- chase lender Prospect Mortgage announced the appointment of Michael J. Williams as CEO. Formerly the CEO of Fannie Mae, Williams has served as a leader at Prospect since 2012, when he took a role as chairman of the company's board of directors. Williams' housing experi- ence dates back decades. Having served at Fannie Mae for more than 20 years in several key roles, he became CEO in 2009. Under his leadership, Fannie Mae executed a significant reversal, turning around from a $23 billion loss in Q1 2009 to a profit of $5.1 billion in Q2 2012. JOHN THOMAS Oldham Real estate investment firm Rockspring Capital announced the addition of John Thomas Oldham to its team as senior associate and corporate counsel. At the company, Oldham will be responsible for client development, sourcing capital, and strategic implementation and execution of fundraising operations. He will also provide in-house legal counsel. Prior to joining Rockspring, Oldham was an associate with Faubus Keller LLP and Christian, Smith & Jewell LLP. KAREN HERR Mortgage Capital Management (MCM), a firm offering mortgage banking consulting and services, brought on Karen Herr as SVP for sales and marketing. An experienced mortgage veteran with more than 25 years beneath her belt, Herr began her career in mortgage servicing with a savings and loan before transitioning to capital markets at Merrill Lynch Mortgage Capital. She also spent 15 years at Chase Home Mortgage, both as a successful producer and as a manager in the company's first mortgage correspondent lending and wholesale home equity divisions. PATRICK WALDEN Envoy Mortgage in Houston announced that its president, Patrick Walden, has taken on the additional role of CEO. In his dual role, Walden has replaced former CEO Rick Thompson, who remains an owner of the company. Both Walden and Thompson joined Envoy in 2008 in connection with their acquisition of ownership interests in the company and have led within a dual leadership structure since 2011. Envoy's co-founders, Dana Gompers and David Zugheri, still retain ownership interests and are active in the company's day-to-day management. PETER CARROLL The Mortgage Bankers Association announced the appointment of Peter Carroll to the board of directors of the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization. Currently SVP of capital markets at Wells Fargo, Carroll has years of leadership experience responding to changes in the asset sales environment, including GSE reform and regulatory changes in the secondary market. Prior to that, Carroll served as assistant director of the Office of Mortgage Markets at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. MICHAEL MOORE RECOVCO, a pro- vider of due diligence, quality control, and mortgage fulfillment services, announced the appointment of three new managing directors to its business development team. First on the announcement is Michael Moore, who has nearly three decades of experience in the mortgage arena. Moore most recently served as COO of Genpact Mortgage Services, lead- ing all of the company's mortgage operations. He has also held execu- tive roles at Bank of America—where he led a team of 1,200 employees across nine U.S. delivery sites—and KPMG Consulting. JONATHAN P. SMOKE Move, Inc., a provider of residential listings for consumers, named housing-trends expert Jonathan P. Smoke as the first-ever chief economist for Realtor.com, the official site of the National Association of Realtors. Smoke is a 20-year real estate veteran, having spent the past six years in key executive roles for Hanley Wood, including chief economist and SVP, executive director of market intelligence, and SVP of products and innovation. AL CRISANTY JMAC Lending, a wholesale and correspondent lender operating out of California, announced the appointment of Al Crisanty as VP of national wholesale production. Before joining JMAC, Crisanty previously worked in a similar position at 360 Mortgage Group, where he managed all aspects of the sales process. Prior to that, he served as national wholesale director at Caliber Funding, where he was responsible for developing and expanding the company's wholesale production channel. GREG BOTTO The second new recent appointment at RECOVCO was Greg Botto, another 30-year industry veteran. Botto has held leadership roles at a number of world-class financial services and banking companies, including Quatrro Mortgage Solutions, where he was responsible for the company's North American division as EVP. He also served in executive positions at Global Network Financial Services and Franklin Templeton Funds. JOHN SHEPPARD FormFree Holdings Corporation, a company offering verification technology for the mortgage industry, named John Sheppard as president and COO, according to an announcement. With more than 25 years of senior leadership experience in the consumer goods and technology industries, Sheppard is now responsible for overseeing the growth of FormFree and AccountChek, the company's proprietary flagship verification product. EDUARDO PARAS Hamilton Group Funding, a privately held mortgage banking firm with its headquarters in Florida, hired Eduardo Paras as regional VP as the company continues its expansion efforts. Working out of Chicago, Paras' responsibility is to further the development of Hamilton's growth in the region. A 20-year mortgage veteran, Paras joins Hamilton from Citibank, where he served as VP and senior lending manager. His experience in the industry includes work as a branch manager, an owner, a sales manager, and as a loan officer. BILL PEARSON Finally, Bill Pearson has also joined RECOVCO. With 32 years of mortgage lending experience, Pearson brings a broad base of knowledge to the company. Most recently, he was EVP of corporate strategy at Advantium Capital, where he was responsible for strategic partnerships and lead fulfillment needs for originators and servicers.
