MCROWD Meet the Industry's MCrowd SEE WHO'S MOVING ON AND MOVING UP IN THE MORTGAGE MARKETPLACE. The marketplace goes global as a U.S.-based international law firm adds two new partners to its real estate unit and a Canadian company taps former Citigroup employees to lead its expansion into New York. BRANT AHERNS. PrivateBancorp, Inc. (PVTB), recently named Brant Aherns as its president of personal cli- ent services, which marks the launch of a new line of business for PVTB. The personal client services initiative will join the Illinois commercial bank- ing, national commercial banking, and commercial real estate components as part of the bank's organizational foundation. In his role as president of the unit, Aherns will be responsible for all private wealth services, including trust, investment management, and private banking. MICHAEL J. BAILIN. Bolstering sup- port for its executive sales and client activities, DRI Management Systems, Inc., is enhancing its leadership lineup. The technology solutions company has hired Michael J. Bailin to the newly added position of regional sales executive for the western states division, and DRI also announced the recent promotion of Nancy Schaefer to the role of SVP of client operations. Bailin joins DRI from Urban Lending Solutions, where he performed as the company's SVP of sales. ROBERT D. BEMIS. Zillow, Inc., has named a new VP of partner relations, with the announcement that Robert D. Bemis has been appointed to the leadership role. In his new position for the online real estate company, Bemis will be responsible for creating new partnerships with real estate brokers and agents, as well as multiple listing services around the nation. Industry veteran Bemis has more than two decades of experience in the housing industry, and most recently, he was the CEO of Arizona MLS, Inc. BRAD BLACKWELL. Wells Fargo has promoted Brad Blackwell from EVP to the company's portfolio lending business manager. Blackwell will now report to Mike Heid, president of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, and in his new role, he will be responsible for expanding the company's capacity to produce non-GSE loans and mort- gages with jumbo balances. Franklin Codel, head of mortgage produc- tion for Wells Fargo, said Blackwell's "announcement is an example of the depth, breadth, and confidence that we have in our leadership team." 20 | THE M REPORT
