Smith joined Green River Capital in 2008 and has held management posi - tions in Valuation Services, Agent and Client Rela- tions. Her help in creating a vendor network and establishing best practices for the valuations opera - tion, lead to her managing the entire agent/broker network. Smith has played an instrumental role in bringing to market new products within the hous - ing industry such as en- hanced borrower-outreach programs, single-family rental property manage- ment and surveillance, and fix-and-flip financing due diligence. Having worked in IT since the days of dial-up internet, Tracy Tran, VP, Software Development at Nation - wide Title Clearing, Inc., has applied her skills in several major industries. In 2007, when her company announced layoffs for the first time in its more than 20 years in business, Tran realized how integral the housing market is to the national economy. Though her entire department was exempt from layoffs, Tran realized she wanted to be a part of the housing industry and the important changes that were occur - ring. Her bold willing- ness to meet and embrace change has ensured her success in the industry. Passionate about her field, Tran says that while the IT field is male dominated, women's natural inclination for organization, multitask - ing, and communicating make them well-suited for the field. Sandra J. Troutman DIRECTOR, CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS, MERSCORP HOLDINGS, INC. Sandra J. Troutman's in- volvement in the mortgage industry goes beyond improving the bottom line for one particular company and extends to improvement across the industry. She was elected as President of Women in Housing & Finance for 2013-2014, and she par - ticipates in the American Mortgage Diversity Coun- cil, which forwards diver- sity and inclusion efforts throughout the industry. Troutman is working with the Council to develop a training program based on Dodd Frank, Section 342. Troutman serves as the Director of Corpo - rate Communications for MERSCORP Holdings, Inc., where she manages media relations and directs the MERS System USER Conference. The first in her family to attend col - lege, Troutman went on to earn her M.B.A. and J.D. As EVP at First American Title Insurance Company, she oversees 1,200 employ - ees. In 2015, her divi- sion achieved 17 percent growth, closing 60,614 transactions and generating $600 million. In addition to excelling in her role, Tyler also demonstrates a strong commitment to developing the next gen - eration of women in lead- ership at First American. In 2012, she co-sponsored First American's "Women in Leadership" program, which addresses innova - tive leadership across the organization. Since then, 54 women have partici- pated in the program, and about 30 percent of them have received promotions.
