GOVERNMENT OHAD SAMET The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau recently announced a new group of advisory board members, including one member of the servicing community. Ohad Samet, CEO of One True Holding Company, based out of San Francisco, was recently appointed to the Consumer Advisory Board, along with fi ve other members, including Randi Adelstein, Patricia L. Arvielo, Julie Kalkowksi, Brent A. Neiser, And Dr. Howard B. Slaughter Jr. Their tenure on the board will last for three years Other appointments include those to the Community Bank Advisory Council, which received two new members—Richard H. Harvey Jr., and Max S. Yates—both of whom will serve two-year terms; and the Credit Union Advisory Council received four new appointees: Kayce Bell, Jack Fallis, Louis Peralta, and David Tuyo, who also have two-year terms. The Academic Research Council, whose members serve a three-year term, received one new appointment, Dr. John G. Lynch, who is the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Research at the Leeds School of Business in Boulder, Colorado. SERVICE PROVIDER THEODORE W. TOZER PennyMac Financial Services, Inc., a specialty fi nancial services fi rm, announced that as of August 1, former President of the Government National Mortgage Association (Ginnie Mae), Theodore W. Tozer, will join its Board of Directors. Tozer served as President of Ginnie Mae for seven years and managed $1.8 trillion in guarantees of mortgage-backed securities. Ginnie Mae, as a part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, creates a secondary market to buy and sell residential mortgages. Prior to Ginnie Mae, Tozer served as SVP of Capital Markets at National City Mortgage Company, a member of Fannie Mae's and Freddie Mac's National Lender Advisory Boards, and at the Mortgage Bankers Association of America as Chairman of the Capital Markets Committee. He received a B.S. degree in Accounting and Finance from Indiana University and is a Certifi ed Management Accountant. Overall, Tozer has spent more than 30 years in the fi nancial services industry. GAUTAM GUPTA According to Axios, Gautam Gupta, who formerly headed up fi nance for Uber, is joining Opendoor as its COO. In a move to boster its executive staff, Opendoor will also be welcoming former Amazon executives Jason Child and Bali Raghavan as the company's new CFO and VP of engineering, respectively. Gupta, Child, and Raghavan join Opendoor's already impressive leadership team led by the compnay's CEO Eric Wu who came from Trulia, and Executive Chairman Keith Rabois, who came from PayPal. SUZANNE P. CLARK AND THOMAS L. MONAHAN TransUnion announced that Suzanne P. Clark and Thomas L."Tom" Monahan have been appointed to its Board of Directors. Clark is currently Senior EVP of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, focused on strategy, government relations, and market innovation in support of the Chamber's more than 3 million member companies internationally. She previously held senior leadership roles with Potomac Research Group (CEO), Atlantic Media Company (President of National Journal Group), and American Trucking Associations (Chief of Staff). Monahan, 50, was Chairman and CEO of CEB, Inc., a research and analytics fi rm that provides data and insights to help people work more effectively. In addition, he previously worked at Deloitte and Andersen Consulting. He is a former member of the CEB board and current member of the board of Convergys Corporation. Monahan is also currently a board member of the Peace Tech Lab and the Maret School. Monahan earned a B.A. magna cum laude from Harvard University and an MBA with distinction from New York University. DR. ALEX VILLACORTA HouseCanary, a modern data analytics company for real estate professionals, recently announced that Dr. Alex Villacorta has joined the team as EVP of Analytics. Previous to this announcement, Villacorta was at Clear Capitol where he created and led the research and housing analytics team. RICHARD LEURIG AND RICH OWENS a360inc recently announced the additions of new CIO Richard Leurig, and new CMO Rich Owens. Leurig and Owens will help lead the entire a360 family of companies, including Firm Solutions, C2C Title Services, and Blue Ribbon Legal.
