42 | TH E M R EP O RT The Women of Mr. Cooper (Nationstar Mortgage Holdings) Belinda DeArman SVP, MR. COOPER (NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE HOLDINGS) With multiple years of expertise under her belt, Belinda DeArman draws upon an expertly curated trove of highly sought expertise every day in her leadership role at Mr. Cooper. A degreed accountant with a noticeable knack for numbers, this trailblazer has overseen numerous teams in various capacities throughout her mortgage industry tenure. Epitomizing "what hard work and dedication is all about," DeArman inspires with her "never-give-up attitude" and willingness to jump in and lend a hand—no matter how big or small the need may be. An inspiration to scores of people spanning varying roles and levels, every single person who has the pleasure of knowing her—men and women included—has picked up something positive from her, peers say. DeArman is a leader who succeeds in her role not just because of her knowledge and ideas, they also note, but also because she does so with character, compassion, and class. Courtney Ehinger SVP PERFORMING SERVICING; SVP, MR. COOPER (NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE HOLDINGS) Courtney Ehinger is no stranger to the mortgage industry. But in the five short years she's been with Mr. Cooper, this rising star has shot up from VP to executive- level SVP, fronting all of the company's performing- servicing activities: cash, acquisitions, research, document administration, and escrow, to be exact. An undeniable role model for women both inside the industry and out say those who know her, Ehinger was part and parcel to helping Mr. Cooper double its size via acquisitions dating back to 2013. That's one reason why she's a "key figure in the company and one of only a few female leaders at her level," according to a co-worker. Generous with her time and talent, Ehinger is more than happy to share her knowledge with other women looking to follow in her footsteps. A "fair-but-driven" figurehead, she routinely mentors other upcoming leaders and supports promotion for females within her purview. Elizabeth Giddens SVP DEPUTY GENERAL COUNSEL & CORPORATE SECRETARY, MR. COOPER (NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE HOLDINGS) Her twofold mix of strength and respectfulness makes Elizabeth Giddens a case- in-point exemplar of what it truly means to be a female executive in a male-dominated industry. Her colleague calls her incredibly bright, dedicated to her work, and passionate about improving the customer experience. Giddens uplifts every member of her team and encourages them to give their all. "Elizabeth was the first woman to reach out to me during my first week at work and was quick to show me the ropes," one of Giddens' colleagues from her company shared. Unsurprisingly, her true passion lies in helping fellow females find success in their roles. "She is quick to point out other women's successes while quietly helping them in areas where they may struggle," a colleague said. The founding president of Mr. Cooper's Women's Resource Team, Giddens never shies away from advocating for her female co-workers. And, above all else, simply being their friend. Stella Hess SVP ACCOUNT SERVICES, MR. COOPER (NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE HOLDINGS) Lauded as a "generous, encouraging co-worker" and "great collaborator … always focused on doing the right thing for the company," Stella Hess has devoted every ounce of her storied career to servicing. That staunch loyalty to her industry and to her company—coupled with her super-positive attitude—makes Hess a huge asset and beloved team member, colleagues unequivocally agree. An innovator who routinely pushes for improvement to advance the mortgage field, Hess is one of the "biggest cheerleaders" in the company and a "born champion of others," especially other females following in her footsteps. "Mr. Cooper is lucky to have someone with her experience and attitude on its team," a staffer said. "Our company is going through a lot of radical changes and … she has embraced all of the change and has really thrived because of it. The whole company would be thrilled to see Stella recognized in this way. She's very deserving." Donna Jones VP POST CLOSING, MR. COOPER (NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE HOLDINGS) Donna Jones is a picture- perfect mentor for mortgage- minded females because she typifies "how women who are driven, motivated, and work hard can move up to the executive level of management if they put their mind to it," a colleague raved. Another described Jones as "overall the best boss I have ever worked for. Her passion for getting the job done and having fun while you're doing it is always inevitable." Jones lays claim to a 20-plus-year tenure in mortgage banking and supports her female teammates wholeheartedly. "She has led me, empowered me, not given up on me, cheered me on, asked for my opinion, let me run faster, picked me up when I have fallen," one of them said. For all of her remarkable leadership qualities, Jones is probably most applauded for her ability to lead with purpose and passion: "If you want something accomplished, she is the woman that will inspire and equip the troops."
