GOVERNMENT STANLEY FISCHER Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Stanley Fischer's resignation becomes official October 13, 2017, leaving yet another seat empty at the Board of Governors. Fischer's term as Vice Chair was set to expire in June 2018. Fischer was appointed by former President Barack Obama in 2014 to an unexpired term set to end in January 2020. Before serving on the Fed's Board of Governors, Fischer was governor of the Bank of Israel from 2002 to 2005. He was also first managing director of the International Monetary Fund from late 1994 to mid-year 2001. BRIAN MONTGOMERY Last month, Brian Montgomery was nominated by President Trump as the Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Federal Housing Commissioner. Montgomery, who now operates as Vice Chairman of The Collingwood Group, a Washington D.C.-Based Advisory Firm that he co-founded, served as Deputy Assistant to the President for George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005. After serving under the Bush Administration, he continued at his post six months into former President Barack Obama's leadership before resigning in July of 2009. During his time as FHA Commissioner, his primary focus was the creation and implementation of a bill that would modernize the FHA, an issue that is still looming over the administration. The Bill, which was passed in the House July 2006, increased loan limits, updated down payment assistance options, and added a risk-based premium structure. PAMELA PATENAUDE In September, Pamela Hughes Patenaude was sworn in as the new Deputy Secretary at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In her role as Deputy Secretary, HUD's second-ranking official behind Secretary Ben Carson, Patenaude will lead the Department's Disaster Management Group and play a primary leadership and operational role in coordinating recovery efforts following the recent hurricanes, according to the release. Patenaude will also direct 16 program and support offices within HUD in order to assist state and local governments with the design and execution of their recovery plans to rebuild damaged housing, business, and infrastructure. SERVICE PROVIDERS JENNIFER ANSPACH Safeguard Properties recently announced Jennifer Anspach, AVP of Human Capital, as HR Executive of the Year Finalist in the private companies category for Crain's Cleveland Business's 2017 Archer Awards, which recognizes those in Human Resources that have "hit the mark" and build companies with the best people, talent, development, and culture. Anspach has bettered Safeguard by implementing initiatives like work from home, part-time and flex schedules, casual dress code, a wellness initiatative, and career enhancement and tracking opportunities through goal development and training. SCOTT ARNOLD DIMONT, a Dallas, Texas-based provider of insurance claims and collateral loss mitigation for residential mortgage and auto loans, announced Scott Arnold will serve as the company's SVP of Finance and Administration. With more than 40 years of experience in senior level positions in accounting, finance, and management across several industries, Arnold came to DIMONT in 2016 as VP of Finance. He had previously served as DIMONT's interim controller twice. PHIL HUFF Phil Huff recently joined Altisource Portfolio Solutions as VP and Head of Valuations as well as President and CEO of Springhouse, a full-service appraisal management company owned by Altisource. Springhouse is an indirect subsidiary of Altisource Portfolio Solutions. Huff brings more than 25 years of experience in the realm of financial technology to his new role. Altisource also announced the addition of George Paquette as Manager of Valuations. Paquette brings more than 15 years of experience as chief appraiser, compliance officer, and manager of review for national appraisal management companies and lenders to his new role. BILL MAW LenderLive Holdings, Inc., a mortgage services provider, announced Bill Maw has joined the company as its Chief Financial Officer. Maw joins the company with 20-plus years' financial experience. Prior to joining LenderLive, Maw severed as the CFO of Liquidnet Holdings, Inc., a financial technology company that facilitates equities and fixed income trading for the world's leading asset management firms in 45 markets. Maw is a board member and chair of the Audit Committee of PYXERA Global, an international NGO. He is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology IDEAS Global Challenge. DINESH SHAHANE Ellie Mae, a cloud-based platform provider for the mortgage finance industry, has announced Dinesh Shahane as their SVP of Engineering.
