Shahane will play a key role in evangelism and adoption of the platform by lenders, partners, and ISVs—driving the expansion of the vast open ecosystem of Encompass developers. He also will play a pivotal role in the delivery of the full suite of Encompass Connect solutions, as well as raising the bar on quality, scalability, performance, and security of all Ellie Mae solutions. RICHARD SMITH The Board of Directors for Equifax, Inc. recently announced the retirement of Chairman of the Board and CEO Richard Smith. Smith's retirement follows the September 7 announcement of a data breach that affected an estimated 143 million consumer records as well as the stepping down of Chief Information Officer David Webb and Chief Security Officer Susan Mauldin September 15. Equifax's Board of Directors appointed current board member Mark Feidler to serve as Non-Executive Chairman. Seven- year veteran Paulino do Rego Barros, Jr., who recently served as President of the company's Asia-Pacific business, has been appointed as interim CEO as the Board searches for a permanent individual both within and outside of the company. LEGAL CANDICE ARCHIBALD The Partners of Schiller, Knapp, Lefkowitz & Hertzel, LLP announced that Candice Archibald has joined the firm as its new Director of Business Development. Archibald brings with her over eight years of mortgage and banking industry experience. Prior to her new role, she was with M&T Bank where she most recently worked as a VP in Commercial Banking, as a strategic advisor to several Commercial Executives across the bank's footprint. In her previous role at the bank, Archibald managed the Attorney Oversight and Foreclosure Legal Administration Departments. DOUG OLIVER McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce, LLC announced the addition of Doug Oliver as Member and Managing Partner for Illinois Foreclosure. Oliver was previously a partner at the firm Anselmo Lindberg Oliver, LLC in Naperville, Illinois. He has concentrated his foreclosure and litigation practice in process improvement and management in Illinois for the past 17 years, with a total of 24 years of legal experience. PAUL J. SANTI Fabrizio & Brook, P.C., a Michigan- based law firm, has announced Paul J. Santi as the newest addition to the company's experienced group of attorneys. Santi brings seven years' experience in the focus areas Fabrizio & Brook specializes in: litigation, creditors' rights, and real estate. He received his Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law School and graduated with honors as summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Western Michigan University. He is also a member of the State Bar of Michigan, admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, as well as the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS JIM AMORIN After 10 years of service, the Appraisal Institute, the nations largest professional association of real estate appraisers, recently accepted the resignation of CEO Frederick H. Grubbe, MBA, CAE, through their Board of Directors. Jim Amorin, the organization's current president, has been appointed as the organization's Acting CEO. Amorin will continue as President through his one-year term, which will end December 31, 2017. The Appraisal Institute is currently looking for a new CEO. KATHY CUMMINGS The American Mortgage Diversity Council (AMDC) has taken another step to promote inclusion with the recent addition of Kathy Cummings, SVP, Homeownership Solutions and Affordable Housing Programs at Bank of America, to its council as co-chair. Cummings joins co-chair Michael Ruiz, Director of Supplier Diversity at Fannie Mae, in their mission to create a diverse and inclusive mortgage industry for all. Cummings joined Bank of America in 2003 as the Technology Service Delivery Manager and then as the National Pricing Manager. She has been in her current position, where she manages non-profit strategic relationships and the bank's Connect to Own fee-for-service program, since 2008.
