Chairwoman Waters Announces Legislation to End Modern-Day Redlining

"This bill will hold banks accountable to the local communities where they have branches or do most of their lending,” said Chairwoman Maxine Waters. She added that the legislation would strive to encourage banks’ investment in the communities they serve and to help close the widening racial-wealth gap.
