MNOTES The Business of D&I A business strategy is a company's roadmap to what it wants and how it plans to get there. Increasingly, organizations in the housing and mortgage industry are realizing the business benefits of Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), and this month's edition of MReport dives deep into the D&I strategies that are helping organizations to thrive with industry commentary on the way forward to further strengthening and integrating D&I into business consciousness. With the many directions the D&I discussion can take, this month we narrowed in on the actionable changes that companies are making and success stories of organizations who have benefited from such actions. In this month's cover story, "Diversity & Inclusion: Rattling the Status Quo," MReport's Donna Joseph gets expert insights on the changes implemented in D&I towards creating a more equal, multicultural work environment and the areas that still need work. Next, in "D&I: Driving Business Strategy," Radhika Ojha speaks with the leadership team of FHLBank Chicago to explore how D&I, when integrated with corporate strategy, is capable of sustained business success even beyond the company. While AJ Barkley, the Neighborhood Lending Executive for Bank of America, gives insights into how connecting with clients across generations and genders can close the homeownership gap across the nation in "The Great Property Divide," Debora Aydelotte, COO of Credit Risk Solutions, makes a case for how women and minority leaders can fight unconscious bias in "When a Seat at the Table Isn't Enough." As our culture continues to become more diverse, embracing D&I initiatives are crucial for any company that hopes to succeed. Read "Seeking a Better Balance," by Laurie Egan, VP and General Manager at The William Fall Group to learn more. This issue is truly about reflecting the positive changes towards D&I within the industry so thank you for sharing your ideas, programs, and longstanding solutions to make D&I a priority.
