Garrie has more than 17 years of residential valuation experience, including an eight-year stint as branch manager for Forsythe Appraisals, LLC. According to United States Appraisals, he was the first appraiser in the country to be certified to produce the Collateral Valuation Report (CVR) and is also a certified CVR instructor. In his new role, he directs the company's team of internal review appraisers. Brooke Hoag. Meet the new face of Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group's community service efforts: Brooke Hoag. As Gold Star's community commitment liaison, Hoag devotes her energy to formalize and expand community giving efforts developed by employees over the years. She oversees a number of service projects, including blood drives for the American Red Cross, toy donations to local children's hospitals, and canned food drives. H. Lynn Ryan. loanDepot, an independent lender based in California, hired H. Lynn Ryan to serve as EVP and CIO. Ryan's work experience includes SVP and CIO roles at CIT Group, Novastar Financial, Ameriquest, and Argent Mortgage. She also held senior information technology leadership roles at Sanwa Bank, Bank of America. At loanDepot, she has oversight of all the company's information technology systems, operations, and services and is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm's technology. Candis Duke. loanDepot has a new COO in Candis Duke. Duke most recently served as chief risk officer at Prospect Mortgage Company, and her prior experience includes a role as president at Mortgage & Management Strategies as well as management positions as Plaza Home Mortgage and Suncoast Savings & Loan. At loanDepot, Duke oversees underwriting, credit, funding, and enterprise risk management. Jeff Walsh. Jeff Walsh is now serving as EVP at loanDepot. Walsh was hired to oversee various departments— including processing, human resources, vendor management, and escrow relationships—during loanDepot's continued growth. Prior to this role, he served as COO of Ameriquest Capital Corporation and previously was president and chairman at Town and Country Credit. Jeff DerGurahian. As loanDepot's EVP of capital markets, Jeff DerGurahian oversees the company's secondary marketing and capital markets efforts, including investor relations, loan trading, hedging, pricing strategies, and product development. Prior to joining loanDepot, DerGurahian served for nine years as EVP of capital markets for Prospect Mortgage. Before that, he was a hedge manager for Tuttle Risk Management Services. Brian Jensen. Mortgage Master hired Brian Jensen as Midwest regional manager as part of the company's expansion into the region. Jensen joins Mortgage Master with more than 21 years' industry experience, working most recently as district manager for Prospect Mortgage. Before that, he was the district sales leader for MetLife Homes, where he expanded multiple branch sales teams. His career has also taken him through leadership roles at Countrywide Home loans, TFC National Bank, and First Chicago Bank. Craig Achtzehn. Craig Achtzehn is leading Mortgage Master's newly opened Chicago branch. Achtzehn has 11 years of mortgage and real estate experience. Before joining the company, he worked in management and sales positions at Prospect Mortgage, including branch manager in the Chicago River North market. Mortgage Master president Paul Anastos said he expects Achtzehn's "leadership skills will help Mortgage Master continue to deliver dynamic service and the best possible pricing to borrowers throughout the Midwest." David Linsmayer. Avison Young, a commercial real estate services company headquartered in Ontario, announced David Linsmayer has joined the company's brokerage operations in San Francisco. Linsmayer works for Avison Young as a principal, focusing on brokerage services, including the representation of corporate tenants, investors, and landlords. Throughout his 22-year real estate career, he has represented a variety of clients in the fields of finance, insurance, technology, and professional services. Sonya Gray. Residential Finance Corporation hired Sonya Gray as director of organizational development. Gray possesses extensive experience as a learning and development strategist in the financial services industry. Prior to taking on her new role, she served as senior manager of employee learning for Discover Home Loans, Inc., where she led the training of mortgage staff and the development and design of the company's training programs. She also managed training staff across the nation for LendingTree. Tammy Richards. Caliber Funding LLC, a national residential lender based in Dallas, appointed Tammy Richards as SVP of operations. Richards brings more than three decades of mortgage banking leadership experience to the table, and Caliber president Jim Ferriter called her "a seasoned executive and an outstanding addition to our team." In her position at Caliber, she is responsible for overseeing the company's processing, underwriting, closing, credit, and appraisal departments across all channels. Penny Smith. In Pennsylvania, GMH Mortgage Services added Penny Smith to its leadership team as VP of processing. Smith's 25-year career has seen her working at New Penn Financial, where she managed an operations channel, and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, where she directed growth, development, and profitability in the mid-Atlantic retail channel. Having served in various management roles for several influential firms, Smith is "ideally suited for GMH Mortgage's strategic growth plan," the company said in a release. The M Report | 21
