54 | TH E M R EP O RT Emerging Leaders Amanda Bowers (28) VP OF MARKETING, PROCTOR FINANCIAL INC. Amanda Bowers, VP of Marketing at Proctor Financial, is extremely passionate about her job and works hard to make Proctor a thought leader, while creating brand awareness all at the age of 28. She strives to work after hours or early morning hours to complete whatever comes her way, and is always willing to help her co-workers at the drop of a dime. "I showcase Proctor as a reputable thought leader, because we are a reputable thought leader in the lender-placed insurance industry. One of my goals, along with Proctor's leadership team, is to demonstrate Proctor's intrinsic value in supporting the housing industry and financial literacy," stated Bowers. Bowers is always willing to offer advice, and is very passionate about continued education. She is a Wayne State graduate with her bachelor's in Marketing and continues her relationship with Wayne State as a member of the alumni board. She stays involved with Leadership Detroit through the Detroit Regional Chamber. Genger Charles (35) GENERAL DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY AND DEPUTY COMMISSIONER, FEDERAL HOUSING ADMINISTRATION As a child of immigrant parents, Genger Charles, General Deputy Assistant Secretary and Deputy Commissioner of the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), remembers her parents purchasing their first home, truly achieving the American Dream made possible via a FHA-insured loan. She attended Cornell University to study Policy Analysis and Management where she made the connection between educational attainment and housing. Eventually, she became the face of FHA on Capitol Hill and transitioned into being a leader at the organization involved in everything from policy formulation to implementation, resources, and all the varied complications in between. Charles has learned that the ecosystem that is our nation's housing finance system requires collaboration and communication on many levels and its success is a function of that dialogue. As far as a woman who inspires Charles, she says that would be Beyoncé, who she believes has inspired everyone in some form or fashion. Erika Garcia (31) VP OF OPERATIONS, PRECEDENT MANAGEMENT LLC Erika, VP of Operations at Precedent Management LLC, entered the real estate service industry as the great recession was starting. After nearly a decade, she is now a recognized operations professional, and has earned the trust of her clients and co-workers, who have come to know her as a tireless worker, a subject matter expert, and a master at engineering processes that deliver results. "Erika maintains a positive attitude and approaches her responsibilities with leadership and determination," says Amy Sanchez, COO and President of Precedent Management. Garcia is a critical member of the senior leadership team, where her wealth of knowledge of the industry has proven invaluable to improvement and growth of Precedent's products and technology. "Her colleagues say that watching her growth as a manager and real estate professional has been impressive. Garcia handles all issues, people, and clients with an amazing level of professionalism, while remaining calm and collected at all times. Samantha Gramsas (34) VP BUSINESS CONTROLS, SPECIALIZED LOAN SERVICING Samantha Gramsas, VP Busi- ness Controls, at Specialized Loan Servicing, has 10-plus years in varying roles within mortgage servicing. Her experi- ences provide her with well- rounded, detailed knowledge of servicing systems, operational processes, and compliance/ client requirements in complex operational areas such as bankruptcy, foreclosure, and loss mitigation. In addition, she is skilled at identification of risk and development of internal controls. Her colleagues would describe her as a dedicated and tireless worker who is always trying to ensure her company has appropriate processes in place to mitigate risk—financial, reputational, reg- ulatory—and still exceed client expectations. Her knowledge is extensive and as a result, she is able to quickly ascertain critical information and fully consid- ers touch points and impacts throughout the organization in order to drive projects to completion. Gramsas is intel- ligent, inquisitive, and creative. She is a strong communicator and has cross-functional mort- gage servicing knowledge that makes her the "go-to" person for process improvements, business representation during application changes, internal control design, and client communication regarding their vendor oversight needs. Megan M. Johnson (34) QUALITY CONTROL/CLIENT RELATIONS MANAGER, POTESTIVO & ASSOCIATES, P.C. Megan M. Johnson joined Potestivo & Associates, P.C. in February 2004 as a Junior Foreclosure Coordinator and has since assumed the position of Quality Control/Client Relations Manager. Johnson's breadth of experience in the real estate finance and credit industry invaluably contributes to the success of Potestivo's Marketing Department and our firm as a whole. She enjoys the ability to adapt to the ever- changing landscape of the default servicing industry, and she anticipates the challenges that each new day brings. Johnson is at the beck and call of her clients who never hesitate to contact her, as she is the first point of contact at the firm. Johnson has served in a variety of departments in the last 13 years at Potestivo and Associates, and has built her knowledge from the ground up. She's described as a very strong organizer, tracking everything to ensure compliance and informed decision making.
