MNOTES An Issue That Hits Close to Home A s we celebrate diversity and inclusion (D&I) in this month's edition of MReport, I am heartened by the outpouring of industry commentary that has flooded in on the topic. D&I is at once both a deeply personal subject and yet something that all businesses who wish to succeed in a changing landscape should make a priority. With the many directions the D&I discussion can take, this month we narrowed in on the actionable changes that any company can make. In this month's cover story, "Measuring Change," MReport's Radhika Ojha explores how organizations can implement diversity best practices, not only for their benefit but to better connect with homeowners. "We understand that to see true inclusion it's impor- tant that we have a foundation where our leaders are accountable. Everyone plays a key role, and everyone has a responsibility," Sean Grzebin, Head of Consumer Originations at Chase Home Lending, shared with Ojha. Next, we delve into the practicalities and how-tos of diversity in everyday business with three impactful features by National MI's Christina Bartning and Kristin Meserli ("Keeping Up With Demographics"), Credit Risk Solutions' Debora Aydelotte ("Slaying the C-Level Diversity Myth"), and Embrace Home Loans' Margie Hennessey ("3 Ways to Connect With Diverse Buyers"). Lastly, we diverge from the diversity theme for Brian Lynch's equally important pressing issue of how lenders can successfully in- tegrate new software in "Breaking the Bottleneck." Lynch utilizes his experience as President and Founder of Advantage Systems to share the typical cost and strategy pitfalls that can occur when switching over software processes.
