Th e M Rep o RT | 9 MCrowd Kathy Murphy The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) appointed Kathy Murphy as the agency's senior deputy comptroller for management and CFO. Murphy previously served as acting senior deputy comptroller for management and CFO, roles she took over in June. Before that, she served since 2009 as deputy comptroller and chief accountant. As senior deputy comptroller and CFO, Murphy oversees OCC's financial management, human resources, continuing education, information technology, security, workplace services, and performance improvement. EMEKa Madu Valuations and asset management solutions provider LRES has added Emeka Madu to its team as manager of compliance. In his new position overseeing LRES' compliance department, Madu's responsibility is to ensure the company remains up to date and compliant with all rules and regulations governing real estate appraisal, broker price opinion, and asset management. He is also in charge of reviewing, validating, and processing all correspondence related to state taxes, business licenses, appraisal management company regulatory licenses, and insurance requirements. dan BiEBEl LenderLive also welcomed to its staff Dan Biebel, the company's newest regional account manager. Working in LenderLive's Correspondent Lending division, Biebel will represent the company throughout much of the Midwest, including Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. His duties include conferring with both current and prospective clients that are participating in or considering LenderLive's correspondent program. JanEll Byrd- ChiChEstEr The Federal Housing Finance Agency announced the appointment of Janell Byrd-Chichester as the organization's new chief of staff. Just prior to joining FHFA, Byrd-Chichester was a partner for Washington, D.C.- based law firm Mehri & Skalet for four years. Her many years of experience in law include serving as co-managing attorney for the Cochran Firm in Washington, D.C., from 2002 to 2009 and working for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, as well as the North Carolina Central University School of Law. laura lawson In Michigan, United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) announced the promotion of Laura Lawson to the newly created position of chief people officer (CPO). As CPO, Lawson will lead and work with all teams focused on UWM and its parent company, United Shore Financial Services, in the areas of human resources, recruiting, training, client services, facilities, and events. In her previous role, she served as SVP of marketing, where she was responsible for all aspects of UWM's wholesale marketing efforts. Brian BrooKs Former OneWest Bank vice chairman Brian P. Brooks is joining Fannie Mae as EVP, general counsel, and corporate secretary, according to an announcement from the company. Brooks has more than two decades of legal and business experience, also serving as chief legal officer for OneWest. In his dual roles there, he advised executive management and the board of directors on all key legal, risk, and strategic issues. KaMEl Boulos ClosingCorp has a new chief technology officer, tapping industry veteran Kamel Boulos for the position. Prior to joining the company, Boulos was chief information officer at American Mortgage Network, where he led the development of an enterprise lending system that included a loan origination system and other applications to enhance sales and service. Before that, Boulos also worked as chief information officer for Lyonwell Technologies, a technology consulting firm, and Homefield Financial, a mortgage origination company. JEff diCKstEin Pro Teck Valuation Services' own chief appraiser, Jeff Dickstein, has been appointed to serve on the Five Star Institute's National Appraisal Congress (NAC), according to a company announcement. "In this heightened regulatory and risk environment, it is important to have an open discussion regarding policies and best practices. I look forward to serving on Five Star's National Appraisal Congress to engage with industry leaders and policy makers," Dickstein said. ChuCK soCKol Aspen Grove Solutions announced the addition of Chuck Sockol to its team as VP of industry relations and account management. Sockol has more than 17 years of vendor management experience across multiple sectors, all of which he will put to work in growing and managing Aspen Grove Solutions' vendor compliance and management solutions customer base. Sockol's particular focus will be on Aspen iRecord, the technology that powers a range of standardized industry background check compliance solutions. KEvin Johnson Retired Juniper Networks CEO and former Microsoft executive Kevin Johnson has joined Auction.com's board of directors. Johnson has enjoyed a long career of leading and growing companies, serving as Juniper's CEO and a member of its board for more than five years until his retirement in January. Prior to his work at Juniper, Johnson served in a number of executive positions at Microsoft, including group VP of worldwide sales, marketing, and services. He also worked as president of the company's platforms division. CharliE KEnt Domestic-based mortgage services provider LenderLive Network hired Charlie Kent as VP of national sales for the Settlement Services division. Immediately prior to joining LenderLive, Kent served as the national account director for First American, where he was in charge of many high profile accounts with top-level clients. He has also held many executive positions with First American in addition to serving as national account director, including SVP, VP, and strategic account director. david GrostEffon Carrington Mortgage Services announced the appointment of David Grosteffon as divisional sales manager for strategic accounts at the company's wholesale lending division. Serving in this role, Grosteffon will lead Carrington's focus on establishing strategic alliances with leading community banks and credit unions as the firm continues to widen its lending scope to include credit-challenged borrowers it says have been underserved in the past few years.
