Th e M Rep o RT | 9 MCrowd Meg Burns Meg Burns, former senior associate director for the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), has signed on to the Washington, D.C.-based Collingwood Group as managing director, the company announced. Burns is a long-time veteran of federal housing policy and finance issues. In her role at FHFA, she administered policy and regulatory initiatives involving single- and multifamily finance, credit loss mitigation strategies, housing markets, and housing mission responsibilities of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the 12 Federal Home Loan Banks. Mark FleMing Title insurance and settlement services provider First American Financial Corporation appointed a new chief economist, naming Mark Fleming to the role. Fleming's research expertise largely includes real estate and urban economics, applied econometrics, and mortgage risk. He has more than two decades of mortgage and property information experience and is frequently quoted in some of the nation's top news outlets. Dan kenshalo In another new addition, Black Knight named Dan Kenshalo as head of the Innovation Laboratory for its Data & Analytics division. Before joining Black Knight, Kenshalo was a senior associate at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he led a large professional services consulting team with a focus across multiple industries. He also spent 12 years supporting the U.S. Department of Defense in designing and developing multi-petabyte systems for storing and accessing massive amounts of data. kal raMan Nationstar Mortgage Holdings announced the hiring of Kal Raman as CEO of the company's wholly owned subsidiary, Solutionstar. Raman has more than two decades of experience in leadership positions with innovative technology and retail businesses. He served as COO for Groupon in addition to serving as CEO of the company's Asia Pacific region. His other past positions include VP of Global Fulfillment at eBay; CEO of GlobalScholar; SVP at Amazon in charge of the company's retail technology and marketing units; and CEO of drugstore.com. Darrin Benhart The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) appointed Darrin Benhart as deputy comptroller for supervision risk management. A veteran of OCC since 1992, Benhart has served in a variety of technical and managerial roles in the last two decades, including roles as director for commercial credit in the agency's Credit and Market Risk division and as deputy comptroller for the same division, a title he received in August 2011. During his earlier tenure, Benhart was heavily involved in OCC's efforts to implement the recommendations of the Supervision Peer Review. kelly lee National home lender PrimeLending hired Kelly Lee as SVP and regional manager for the Pacific Northwest. With more than 20 years' experience in the mortgage industry, Lee has a track record of mentoring leaders and guiding sales teams to the highest level of achievement. Before joining PrimeLending, he served as VP of sales and EVP for a regional mortgage company, where he managed operations, including warehouse lines and investor relationships. DaMon sMith Damon Smith, former acting general counsel for HUD, has joined law firm Jenner & Block as a partner in the group's District of Columbia office, according to an announcement. Smith worked at HUD from June 2009 to January 2014, serving in that time as the agency's principal deputy general counsel, acting associate general counsel for insured housing, and senior counsel/special assistant to the general counsel. Before joining HUD, Smith was a professor of property and local government law at Rutgers University. ChaD neel Nationstar subsidiary Solutionstar named Chad Neel as its EVP of servicing solutions. Neel joins Solutionstar from McCarthy and Holthus, LLP, where he was director of corporate strategy. Earlier in his career, he served as senior managing director and division president for more than a decade at Lender Processing Services, where he oversaw several different business units. "We've looking forward to leveraging Chad's broad experience and successful operational track record by having him lead several of our business units," said Solutionstar President Shawn Stone. DaviD greiF LenderLive Network announced the hiring of David Greif as regional account executive representing the company's Correspondent Lending division in the state of Florida. With more than a quarter century of mortgage industry experience under his belt, Greif most recently served as senior account executive for Homeward Funding, a division of Ocwen, where he assisted in developing correspondent emerging banking, and wholesale business channels. Before that, he was a top-producing VP and account executive with Credit Suisse. Jason spoone Having received a new capital infusion from investors, Wingspan Portfolio Advisors announced the promotion of Jason Spooner to the position of president. Previously EVP of national operations, Spooner has 22 years' experience in the mortgage industry, including leadership roles at Bank of America, Sun Trust, and Wells Fargo. He succeeds company founder and former president Steven Horne, who has transitioned into a senior advisor position. Ben graBoske Black Knight Financial Services' Data and Analytics division announced the selection of Ben Graboske to serve as chief technology officer. Working at the division's Irvine, California, office, Graboske will be responsible for the department's technology development groups, product marketing, and program management functions, as well as supporting corporate technology initiatives. Prior to joining Black Knight, Graboske was the head of the Capital Markets, Mortgage Analytics, and Realtor Solutions businesses for CoreLogic. larry gunnin Larry Gunnin, a mortgage industry veteran with more than three decades of experience, joined Mortgage Network Inc. as Southeast regional manager, the company announced. Gunnin's long work history includes extensive expe- rience recruiting loan officers, opening new branches, and generating billions of dollars in annual origination volume for high-performing sales operations. As regional manager for Mortgage Network, he is now responsible for leading the company's strategic growth in the southern part of the country by opening branches and recruiting professionals.
