TH E M R EP O RT | 43 Erica McCartney AVP – OPERATIONS, MR. COOPER (NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE HOLDINGS) Nominated by her Mr. Cooper colleague Elizabeth Giddens, Erica McCartney has played a key role in the initiatives and growth of the Mr. Cooper Women's Network, which now includes more than 300 women. She was even elected VP of the group earlier this year. But her impact reaches beyond that and, according to Giddens, employees from across the organization frequently reach out to McCartney for guidance and mentorship. As Giddens puts it, "She is always willing to share her insights to help young female professionals succeed. Her commitment to helping young female professionals is repeatedly shown as she helps to build out Mr. Cooper's Women's Network. She is an example to all women of the importance of leadership and the need to develop, support, and connect women both at the company and the community." She is intelligent, driven, and a hard worker, according to her co-worker. Shasta Patton VP – CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE, MR. COOPER (NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE HOLDINGS) According to her former boss—and Mr. Cooper's EVP— Dana Dillard, Shasta Patton is "one of the most enthusiastic people you will ever meet, and she is serious about helping customers and employees in the mortgage servicing space." Dillard says Patton, at only 29, is smart, collaborative, and motivational, and that her employees love working for her because of her "can-do attitude and spirit." "When thinking of our next generation of leaders, Shasta is at the top of the list," Dillard said. "She is a big motivator to her team and isn't afraid to step up to responsibilities that are offered to her." Patton recently helped to launch Mr. Cooper's African-American/Black Employee Resource Group and mentors front-line employees as a part of its efforts. "As an industry, we have a challenge in promoting minority women, and Shasta is a great example of what the next wave of female leaders can look like," Dillard said. Ramie Word SVP – PERFORMING SERVICING, MR. COOPER (NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE HOLDINGS) Ramie Word has been passionate about the mortgage industry since she joined its ranks nearly two decades ago. Starting in an entry-level mortgage collections job and eventually making her way to a leadership position at Mr. Cooper, Word has a rags- to-riches story she uses to inspire those around her. She's committed to helping her fellow females, and she dedicates her free time to mentoring and coaching women within her organization and beyond. "I like to support my fellow women in leadership," Word said. "I spend time mentoring and coaching those up-and- comers and promote from within." While she's certainly inspirational for many in the industry, Word says she has a few female role models of her own, too: colleague Courtney Ehinger and Sen. Elizabeth Warren. "Sen. Warren persists in the face of adversity and isn't afraid to challenge convention for her constituents," Word said. "As an industry, we have a challenge in promoting minority women, and Shasta Patton is a great example of what the next wave of female leaders can look like." —Dana Dillard, Mr. Cooper (Nationstar Mortgage Holdings)
