MCrowd Who's moving on and who's moving up in the industry Rick Sharga Rick Sharga has departed Carrington Mortgage Holdings to serve as EVP for Auction. com, the online real estate marketplace announced in a release. Sharga has more than 30 years' experience in real estate, mortgage, and technology marketing. He is one of the country's most frequently quoted sources on real estate trends, having appeared on the CBS Evening News, NBC Nightly News, CNN, ABC World News, CNBC, FOX, and NPR. Elizabeth Duke Federal Reserve Gov. Elizabeth A. Duke announced her intention to step down from her role, bringing her service with the Federal Reserve to a close at the end of August. "Betsy has made invaluable contributions to the Federal Reserve and to the country during her five years at the Board," said Federal Reserve chairman Ben S. Bernanke in a statement. "She brought fresh ideas grounded in her deep knowledge of the banking industry and the realworld dynamic between borrowers and lenders. I wish her the best in her future endeavors." Bill Emerson Quicken Loans CEO Bill Emerson was nominated as vice chair for the Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA) 2014 membership year. Emerson has served on MBA's board of directors and as vice chair of its Residential Board of Governors. He is credited for pioneering Quicken Loans' "Mortgage-In-A-Box" concept, a way of doing business over the phone that led to the centralized business model in use by the company today. Emerson will be elected by MBA members at the association's 100th Annual Convention in October. Derek Brummer Radian Group Inc. announced the appointment of Derek Brummer as EVP and chief risk officer. Brummer joined Radian in 2002 and has served as chief risk officer and general counsel for Radian Asset since 2008. In those roles, he led all risk management strategy, overseeing portfolio surveillance, reserving, administering quantitative analytics and modeling, and directing restructurings and workouts. In his newly created position, Brummer is responsible for all aspects of the credit risk management strategy and framework for Radian and its subsidiaries. Mary Ann Nelson Sutterfield Stewart Title Company appointed Mary Ann Nelson-Sutterfield to lead Stewart Abstract & Title of Oklahoma as president. Prior to joining Stewart Title, Nelson-Sutterfield served as EVP of Cleveland County Abstract Company. "We are very excited about Mary Ann Nelson-Sutterfield coming aboard as our president," said Jack Mahoney, Stewart's group SVP. "Her extensive experience in the industry and as past president of the Oklahoma Land Title Association (OLTA) will complement our strong leadership and great team in Oklahoma City." Elspeth Spransy In Florida, Mortgage Contracting Services (MCS) announced the promotion of Elspeth Spransy to VP of vendor management. Spransy started her career at MCS as an asset preservation coordinator in 2006. From there, she was promoted to team lead in 2007 and to vendor management director seven months later before taking the role of assistant VP of vendor management in 2009. In her new position, she supervises vendor recruitment and training, site audits, licensing and insurance, and the company's property preservation and inspection networks. Chris Nielsen In Seattle, Redfin welcomed Chris Nielsen as CFO. Nielsen was most recently CFO and COO of Zappos. com, a destination in online apparel and footwear sales, where he oversaw the company's financial and fulfillment operations. "Chris Nielsen's experience at Zappos and Amazon, where he ran whole businesses as well as tallied their financial results, is a perfect fit for Redfin," said Redfin CEO Glenn Kelman. "He's a believer and a doer, ridiculously smart but soulful too. We're over the moon to have him on board." Luke Sosnicki Dykema, a leading national law firm, announced that Luke Sosnicki has joined its Los Angeles office as senior counsel. Sosnicki comes to Dykema from Nationstar Mortgage, where he served as VP and assistant legal counsel. Prior to that, he was an assistant general counsel for Aurora Bank FSB, where he advised business units on litigation risk, foreclosure practices, and state and federal laws governing default management. Wade Petty Mortgage Contracting Services (MCS) promoted Wade Petty to VP of finance. Petty has been with MCS since 2009 and manages the company's revenue cycle and accounts receivable, among other duties. "Wade has proven to be exceptionally valuable at using technology to efficiently manage, analyze, and report on our company's revenues," said MCS CEO Caroline Reaves. "Executives and managers across the company appreciate and rely on Wade's responsiveness, accuracy, and innovation." Susan Stewart Susan Stewart has been installed as president of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association for 2013–2014. Stewart is the president and CEO of SWBC Mortgage Corporation, a full-service mortgage banking firm. She is also a member of many industry groups, serving on the Mortgage Bankers Association's Residential Board of Governors, the Texas Mortgage Industry Advisory Committee, and the Fannie Mae Western Region Customer Advisory Board. Assisting her as new officers are VP Tom Rhodes, secretarytreasurer Tom Tallent, and associate representative J. Kevin Gugenheim. Mike Liane Stearns Lending, Inc., a California-based lender with retail, wholesale, and correspondent business channels, announced the appointment of Mike Liane as regional sales leader for the retail division. Liane's responsibilities at Stearns include building retail sales teams and growing the company's retail presence throughout the Pacific Northwest. "We are very pleased to have Mike Liane at Stearns Lending. Mike brings a stellar track record for building and maintaining high-performance sales teams in the Pacific Northwest," said CEO Brian S.
