Kevin Wall First American Title Insurance Company announced it has hired Kevin Wall as president of its First American Mortgage Services (FAMS) division. Wall joins FAMS with more than two decades' experience in the mortgage and settlement industries. Throughout his career, he has held marketing, business line operations, and portfolio management and retention positions at a number of financial institutions. In his most recent position, he worked as EVP for Solutionstar, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nationstar. Brian Beale GMH Mortgage Services, a nationally recognized mortgage banker headquartered in Pennsylvania, announced the addition of Brian Beale as associate VP of corporate recruiting. Beale has more than 12 years of talent acquisition experience in the mortgage industry and most recently worked at GMAC Mortgage, where he served as director of retail recruiting strategy. "Brian has a tremendous depth of knowledge and a wealth of experience in recruiting and acquiring top talent in the mortgage industry," said Frank DiMaio, SVP of national retail sales for GMH. Jim McGuire FirstREX, a real estate equity finance firm operating out of San Francisco, brought on Jim McGuire as sales director. In his position, McGuire is responsible for introducing and expanding REX HomeBuyer into new markets. He has an extensive background in mortgage banking, having built McGuire Mortgage Company into one of the largest home equity lenders in the Midwest. He also founded 1-800-One-Loan and OneLoan.com, two early pioneers in online mortgage originations. Noemi Lopez Noemi Lopez joined Alliant National Title Insurance Company as senior claims counsel. She began her career in the title industry shortly after graduating from law school, serving as a claims attorney for a large national underwriter. As she moved forward in her career, she went on to serve as claims counsel for a regional underwriter and then a national underwriter, handling real estate property issues on a local and nationwide level. "Noemi Lopez has a great, enthusiastic attitude, not to mention several years of very valuable experience," said Alliant National president Dave Ginger. Haydn J. Richards Dykema, a leading law firm with more than a dozen offices across the United States, named Haydn J. Richards as director of its financial industry group. Richards is currently a member of Dykema's financial services regulatory Compliance practice. "I am excited to lead the dynamic team of lawyers behind our nationally recognized financial industry group," he said. "As the financial industry continues to see new regulatory oversight at many levels, our multidimensional team will be poised to serve clients in the most complex matters facing the industry." Meredith McCrory In Dallas, Wingspan Portfolio Advisors hired experienced mortgage vet Meredith McCrory as VP of strategic alliances. In her newly created position, McCrory will represent Wingspan and its affiliated companies to prospective clients and partners in the United States, covering every aspect of the mortgage process in support of the primary servicing sector. Commenting on her new role, she said she looks "forward to working with Wingspan as the company continues to bring the industry's best and most professional offerings to the mortgage servicing community." Wade Hamby The StoneHill Group's Wade Hamby received an honor from the Mortgage Bankers Association of Florida for his contributions to the association and the mortgage industry. Hamby is the StoneHill Group's business development manager. Beyond his work for the firm, he has served as president of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and helped develop Florida's state association. He was honored at the association's 2013 annual convention with the Brown L. Whatley Award, an award created in 1955 to recognize the most outstanding member of the year. Don Shewmaker FirstREX announced the hiring of Don Shewmaker for the position of director of operations. In his role, Shewmaker will oversee day-to-day operations of the REX HomeBuyer program. He has more than 28 years' experience in the financial services industry, having served in management positions at Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Deutsche Bank. In his most recent position, he served as bank operations executive at Pacific Capital Bancorp. Rey Maninang The wholesale lending division of Carrington Mortgage Services, LLC, announced the appointment of industry veteran Rey Maninang to SVP and national sales director for the company's wholesale channel. Maninang comes to Carrington with an industry history spanning more than two decades, much of which was spent in senior leadership positions. Most recently, he served as SVP and national head of sales for PMAC Lending Services' wholesale and retail channels. Rob Philion NXTLoan | First American Mortgage Trust, a lender specializing in FHA 203(k) loans, hired Rob Philion as director of sales and national sales manager. Philion brings more than 14 years of experience in leadership positions at financial institutions to the company. Prior experience includes 10 years with Wells Fargo and Citigroup, where he led initiatives across multiple channels, such as wholesale, retail, and affinity platforms. Anne-Marie Kuhlman Anne-Marie Kuhlman is now Stewart Title's regional sales director for the state of Colorado, the company announced. Kuhlman has been in the title industry for more than 21 years, with 15 years in sales department management in the Denver area. Since 2007, Kuhlman has worked for Stewart as VP and Denver sales manager. In addition to her existing responsibilities, she will now work in conjunction with Colorado division presidents and business development officers to maximize sales efforts throughout the state. Christopher Whalen Christopher Whalen is now in charge of media relations and communications as EVP for Carrington Holding Company, the firm announced. "Our lending, real estate, loan servicing, and asset management business all address different audiences and have equally diverse communications needs," said Bruce Rose, founder and CEO of Carrington. "And because Chris is also responsible for industry research and public policy affecting the mortgage sector, he can represent Carrington very effectively in his role as company spokesman."
