With more than 30 years' experience in the financial services arena, Scavone is well- versed in operational management, technology, and business development for large organizations. She will continue to serve as president of OpExNow, a consulting company she founded in 2009. P.W. PArker U.S. Bancorp announced the promotion of P.W. "Bill" Parker to the position of vice chairman and chief risk officer. Parker has been with U.S. Bancorp since 1984, starting his career as a commercial lending officer and working up through the ranks as senior credit officer and EVP for credit policy. Most recently, he served as chief credit officer, an area he will continue to oversee in his new position. As chief risk officer, Parker will replace Richard Hidy, who plans to retire from the company in March. WAndA deleo The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) consolidated two of its conservatorship operations, appointing Wanda DeLeo as deputy director of the new Division of Conservatorship. DeLeo has been with FHFA since its creation in 2008, taking her former position as deputy director for the Office of Strategic Initiatives in 2012. In her new position, she will serve as FHFA's central point of contact for all matters related to the GSEs' conservatorships. Jo Ann kruSe Matt Martin Real Estate Management (MMREM) also brought on a new COO, appointing Jo Ann Kruse for the role. Kruse comes to MMREM from her most recent position at the Impac Companies in California, where she held several senior positions over the past six years. Prior to that, she served in senior and executive risk management positions at Countrywide, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, and KPMG. SArA MAtheW A new face has joined Freddie Mac's board of directors. The company named Sara Mathew as its latest addition. Mathew is an executive with global financial and general management experience. She served most recently as CEO of the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation (D&B), leading the company's transition to a data, insight, and analytics firm. "We are very pleased that Sara is joining the Freddie Mac board of directors, and we look forward to the insights she will bring," said Christopher S. Lynch, non-executive chairman at Freddie Mac. John Guy Dallas-based Wingspan continues the expan- sion of their business development team with the recent an- nouncement of John Guy joining the team as SVP of Business Development. Guy comes to Wingspan after serving as the Managing Director of Business Development at Auction.com. He brings a combined 24 years of experience in mortgage servicing, secondary marketing, and securiti- zation to Wingspan, and he will use his expertise to drive the business development strategy and expansion of Wingspan's offerings from Florida. ken P. WilSon The new year brought a new president for the Appraisal Institute (AI): Ken P. Wilson. A valuation professional and consultant based in the Dallas area, Wilson has been involved in the industry for 35 years, joining AI's predecessor organization in the early 1980s. As part of his leadership role, Wilson will spend 2014 serving as chair of AI's Executive Committee and will also chair its policy-making board of directors. MichAel cAnnAtti Michael Cannatti, a nearly 40-year veteran of the housing finance industry, has joined Mortgage Master as Texas Regional Manager, the super- regional mortgage bank announced. Cannatti's work history has seen him in several management roles, including Texas area manager at Cherry Creek Mortgage Corp. and assistant VP and production branch manager at Countrywide. In addition, he's also served as president of the Austin Mortgage Bankers Association and chairman of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association. BArBArA hAnSon The Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA) sales team added Barbara Hanson as director of education sales. Hanson is an experienced executive with a more than 30-year history in financial services, having worked in underwriting, operations, sales, and corporate training and development. Most recently, she worked as a mortgage loan specialist for Bank of America. At MBA, Hanson's responsibilities include providing education services and support to members within the real estate finance industry. AAron luBurich Wingspan Portfolio Advisors announced the hiring of Aaron Luburich as SVP of business development. Having worked in the mortgage industry for more than 14 years, Luburich has extensive experience in both lending and servicing. He comes to Wingspan from Accenture, where he was VP for mortgage business process outsourcing and served as the North American lead for default services. Before that, he was national production manager for consumer direct lending at MetLife Bank. neil McPherSon NewOak announced the appointment of Neil McPherson as head of business development. McPherson, who was part of the original business development team when NewOak launched in 2008, returns to the firm with responsibility for coordinating NewOak's client development efforts across all its business lines. "We are very fortunate to have Neil rejoin us," said NewOak CEO Ron D'Vari. "Neil is a true veteran of the markets and understands financial institutions' needs and the highly technical services NewOak offers to support them." lori M. evAnGel In Virginia, Genworth Financial, Inc., announced the hiring of Lori M. Evangel as EVP and chief risk officer. Evangel joins Genworth from Aflac, where she served as managing director and chief risk officer for Global Developments— positions that saw her working to develop the company's investment division risk management function.
