8 | Th e M Rep o RT MCrowd RichaRd K. GReen HUD has named Richard K. Green, University of Southern California Lusk Center for Real Estate director, as a senior advisor for housing finance. During his appointment with HUD, Green will advise on one of the Department's top strategic objectives, which is creating a sustainable housing system that provides support during market disruptions. As senior advisor, Green will help set the agenda for housing finance research along with HUD's Office of Policy Development and Research. * * * Sean BecKetti Freddie Mac hired Sean Becketti, an executive with broad experience in the private sector, government, and academia, to be VP and chief economist for the GSE. Becketti brings extensive mortgage market research, modeling, and analytics experience to his new role at Freddie Mac. In his role as chief economist, he will be expected to lead a team that forecasts mortgage and housing market trends and conducts analysis and research on economic and policy issues affecting Freddie Mac. * * * SandRa BRaunStein Former federal regulator Sandra Braunstein will now provide compliance management and Community Reinvestment Act consulting services to Wolters Kluwer Financial Services. Braunstein will also be collaborating with and advising the Wolters Kluwer executive team on a range of strategic initiatives. She retired from her role as director of the Federal Reserve Board's Division of Consumer and Community Affairs in April 2014 after nearly 27 years of serving the agency. "Housing markets have improved and prices have increased, creating affordability issues for some populations." —Sandra Braunstein * * * JK huey JK Huey, SVP of asset management and preservation with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, has been appointed the chairperson of the Five Star Institute National Mortgage Servicing Association (NMSA). Huey has worked in the mortgage industry for 34 years. In her current position with Wells Fargo, she is responsible for managing REO and property preservation activities for Wells Fargo's servicing channel. The NMSA is a non-profit, nonpartisan association founded in 2010.. * * * John LawRence BSI Financial Services has added three new members to its management team so that the company can prepare for growth in its core servicing and related business lines. John Lawrence assumes the position of EVP and Chief Servicing Officer. Lawrence is a 20-year veteran of the mortgage industry who joins BSI after serving as SVP and portfolio manager for PIMCO. BSI Financial also named Akshay Singh as Managing Director for Strategy and Corporate Development and Michael Whitfield as VP for Loan Administration. "Unquestionably the major issue facing our industry is the rising cost of compliance." —John Lawrence * * * Ron BRiGGS Aspen Grove Solutions (AGS) has promoted Ron Briggs to the position of SVP of business development. Briggs has been with AGS since earlier this year and has 25 years' experience in real estate, specifically the mortgage servicing and default space. In his new position, Briggs will support clients to ensure AGS delivers purpose-fitting solutions in a timely and cost effective manner, that are easy to use and quick to implement with the assistance of his business development team. * * * Suzanne SinGeR Suzanne Singer will join Clayton Holdings as its senior managing director of business development, where she will be responsible for the customer base as well as developing and executing strategic initiatives. She brings more than 20 years' experience in the mortgage industry. She began her career at Freddie Mac as a specialist in the community development investment group and also worked at Auction.com. * * * Who's moving on and who's moving up in the industry This month some of the industry's largest companies saw significant additions to their corporate lineup.
