8 | TH E M R EP O RT Where Prime Lending Ends Citadel Servicing Begins FROM THE SOURCE SHARE THIS CFPB HMDA REPORTING TOOL https://ffiec.cfpb.gov In January, the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) launched the HMDA Platform, a central portal to file Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data collected in or after 2017. Here, financial institutions can upload their loan/application registers, review edits, certify the accuracy and completion of the data, and submit it for the filing year. The deadline to submit HMDA data collected during 2017 is March 1. First enacted in 1968, the Fair Housing Act was created to protect the buyer or renter from seller or landlord discrimination. Primarily, the act makes it unlawful to refuse to sell, rent to, or negotiate with a person because of their status in a protected class.
