Mcrowd Meet the Industry's MCrowd Who's Moving On and Who's Moving Up In the Industry While Mel Watt's FHFA nomination made headlines, he wasn't the only person to make waves in mortgage banking. Troy Baars. Vice Capital Markets, one of the nation's leading mortgage hedge advisory firms, named former managing director Troy D. Baars president. Baars joined the company in early 2008 during the onset of the financial crisis. A 17-year veteran of the mortgage industry, Baars has a tenure that's rooted in the secondary and capital markets, having been in charge of all hedging and related secondary marketing functions for a large mortgage banking firm as well as SVP of correspondent lending for a savings bank. Ken Scheller. Mortgage Contracting Services LLC, a Texasbased provider of property preservation, inspections, and maintenance to the financial services industry, named Ken Scheller as VP of operations. Scheller is a threetime Pinnacle Leadership Award winner and has a Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification from General Electric, where he led consumer finance and mortgage servicing efforts as a VP. He also participated in Fannie Mae/ Freddie Mac advisory groups with Bank of America. According to a release, he will oversee the company's operations center in Ruston, Louisiana. Mike Zwerner. In Pittsburgh, ServiceLink selected veteran sales and management professional Mike Zwerner to serve as SVP of corporate development. In his new role at the company, Zwerner directs the marketing and communications teams, oversees expansion of key partner relationships, assists in the development and oversight of corporate business development, and helps facilitate divisional strategic synergy and execution. He most recently worked as SVP of business development and marketing for Interthinx. Ron Summers. Ron Summers is 360 Mortgage Group's newest account executive, the company announced. Summers has more than 12 years' mortgage lending and real estate experience, all of which will be put to work as he expands the firm's relationships with high-quality mortgage brokers throughout Northern California. Al Crisanty, VP of national wholesale production, described Summers as "a dedicated sales professional" and said 360 Mortgage is "excited to have him join our team to help support our mortgage broker partners." Cy Brinn. VirPack has a new COO in Cy Brinn. Brinn joined the company's leadership team with 25 years' experience and will work to grow operations and support VirPack's expanding client base. He will also focus on expanding the firm's sales, product, support, and services teams in order to deliver more product capabilities, services, and overall value to VirPack's clients. Art Yeend. MountainView Capital Holdings, a fixedincome capital markets firm specializing in residential mortgage assets, appointed Art Yeend as managing director and head of sales and marketing. Yeend is charged with enhancing MountainView's service offerings and partnerships the company currently holds with its customers. In his new role, he coordinates closely with the sales and marketing team to deliver the company's sales and trading, analytics, and asset management expertise to clients. David B. Lowman. David B. Lowman, a long-time senior leader in the mortgage finance industry, joined Freddie Mac as EVP of its singlefamily business. Lowman served as CEO of Chase Home Lending from 2006–2011, overseeing $150 billion in annual production and a $1.2 trillion servicing portfolio at what was then the country's third largest mortgage originator and servicer. He started his career in the Washington, D.C., office of KPMG, where his clients included banks, thrifts, and mortgage bankers. Fred C. Graham. Edward DeMarco, acting director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), announced the promotion of Fred C. Graham to deputy director of the Division of Federal Home Loan Bank Regulation. Graham has been with FHFA since its establishment in 2008 and has held several senior positions within the agency. Most recently, he served as acting deputy director of the Division of Supervision Policy and Support and as senior associate director of the Office of Risk Analysis, where he chaired FHFA's Risk Committee. 20 | The M Report
