A graduate of Harvard and Wharton, Johnson spent the bulk of her career at some of the world's most prominent tech companies, including Apple and Nokia. She specializes in driving innovation—bridging digital technologies and analytics with traditional marketing. Johnson says, "the world today is driven by disruption. Diversity allows teams to tap the cumulative wisdom of varied backgrounds, experiences, and talents; it is fuel for innovation." She also is passionate about making a difference for kids, volunteering on nonprofit boards including United Way U.S., Wise Individualized Student Experience Services, Operation HOPE and Chris 180. Johnson was named among the "50 Most Powerful Women in Corporate America" (Black Enterprise, 2016 and 2017) and "Top Influential Women in Corporate America" (Savoy, 2016). Mary Mbiya VP, DIVERSITY & INCLUSION PROGRAM MANAGER, FLAGSTAR BANK Mary Mbiya has been in the financial industry for over 18 years. In her role at Flagstar Bank, she is responsible for leading the organization's strategy for diversity and inclusion (D&I). Mbiya has a long record of community involvement, and serves on several boards including the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion. Mbiya is dedicated to helping advance D&I initiatives within Flagstar Bank and is passionate about integrating its efforts into the day to day business operations. In addition to overseeing the D&I strategy implementation, she is also a liaison for the seven Employee Resource Groups. Mbiya is committed to incorporating practical initiatives that will continue to foster an inclusive culture. Ultimately, the D&I initiatives will drive and sustain an inclusive work environment that will impact Flagstar's workforce, market place, community connectivity, and enhance business.
