Mcrowd Meet the Industry's MCrowd Who's Moving On and Who's Moving Up In the Industry As the president makes his cabinet picks, a number of lending and real estate visionaries step up to lead their own teams. Fred Becker. The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) will undergo a small leadership shakeup later this year, with the organization's board of directors announcing the July retirement of president and CEO Fred Becker. "Over the past 13 years, Fred has completely transformed NAFCU into the aggressive highpowered advocacy group it is today, tirelessly advancing credit union issues with federal regulatory agencies, the White House, and Congress," stated Mike Parsons, NAFCU chairman and president and CEO of First Source FCU. Dan Berger. The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) named Dan Berger as the group's next president and CEO, following the planned retirement of the organization's current leader, Fred Becker. "Dan is the right choice at the right time. He is a creative, strong leader respected for his integrity and can-do attitude. I'm confident he will lead NAFCU to further success, and I know I am leaving the association in good hands," Becker noted of his successor. Joe Buxton. Ohiobased Residential Finance Corporation (RFC) promoted Joe Buxton to VP of sales. Joining RFC in 2006 as a loan officer, Buxton quickly worked his way up to branch manager, and he has earned many awards during his tenure with the company, including the President's Club Award for Excellence in Sales Management for the last three years. As VP of sales, Buxton will be responsible for helping lead RFC's sales force, as well as facilitating the understanding and application of the company's sales tools. Chris Crocker. Zillow, Inc., will welcome Chris Crocker as the company's new VP of strategic partnerships. Crocker brings more than 16 years of real estate experience to the position, having served most recently as regional VP of operations for the Southwestern U.S. region of NRT, LLC. In addition, Crocker has spent time as a board member for the California Association of Realtors, and he was also a founding board member for the California statewide multiple listings service (MLS) initiative. Nick G. Hahn. Residential Finance Corporation announced it has brought senior industry executive Nick G. Hahn on board to serve as CFO. Hahn is a 30-year banking and financial services industry vet, having worked most recently as CFO at Capitol Bancorp Limited. Prior to that, Hahn was CFO for DeepGreen Financial, Inc., and he also held senior executive positions at Countrywide Financial, Associated Banc-Corp, and CoBank. Hahn will join the company's executive staff at its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Chad Jampedro. GSF Mortgage announced the promotion of COO Chad Jampedro to president of the Wisconsin-based company. Jampedro began his career at GSF in June 2001 as a loan originator; and since that time, he has risen through GSF's ranks, earned his real estate license, and served as president of the Wisconsin Mortgage Professional Association. "This is a well-deserved promotion for Chad. He has learned every aspect of our business from the ground up—all of his experiences will serve him well going forward," noted GSF's outgoing president Phil Siebert. Dennis Kuncas. ICON Residential Lenders welcomed Dennis Kuncas to the team as SVP of mortgage operations. Kuncas began his mortgage career in 1992 at Countrywide, where he helped grow operations from 10 employees to 130. Prior to joining ICON, he held seniorlevel positions at Deutsche Bank and Kinecta Federal Credit Union. "As ICON continues to expand in the marketplace, Dennis, who has a proven record of consistently raising the bar, will be a key player in our success," said ICON president Graham Fleming. Jack Lew. President Obama has appointed Jack Lew as the nation's Secretary of the Treasury, following Timothy Geithner's retirement after four years in the critical leadership role. Lew, previously White House chief of staff and former director of the Office of Management and Budget during both the Clinton administration and Obama's first term, has a long and storied career in finance, having served as managing director and COO of Citi Global Wealth Management, as well as the EVP and COO of New York University. 20 | The M Report
